Something interesting you might not know about me is –

I was a Teaching Fellow at UNC Asheville. Teaching Fellows gave me the opportunity to participate in a summer study abroad program in Cambridge, England.

What do you look for in a friend? I look for someone who is kind, trustworthy, and caring. Someone who listens and is there when I need them most!

What did you want to be when you grew up? When I was really young I wanted to be a professional soccer player. Middle school through early high school I wanted to be a physical therapist. It was 11th grade after completing a peer tutoring class that I decided teaching was what I truly wanted to do.

What’s your favorite ice cream flavor? Ben and Jerry’s- Half Baked

What is your earliest childhood memory? I remember winning a huge pink stuffed rabbit at a NASCAR memorabilia show in Hickory.  A man was asking all the kids to choose a number, and I remember picking 3 because I thought he asked how old we were. I ended up winning the bunny, and it remains in my parent’s basement today.

I was once mistaken for Miss. Katherine the afterschool director. This happened all the time last year, especially by our kindergartners.

What was your nickname growing up?

My dad called me Coley. I knew I was in trouble when he would call me “Nicole”.

Who inspires you and how are you a bit like them?

I would say that my parents have inspired me the most. They are both educators, and they influenced me to become an educator as well. I am inspired to live a life full of travelling, love, and keeping an open mind as they have.

My biggest pet peeve is –Smacking gum (My mom is the worst gum smacker. It’s been driving me crazy since I can remember!)

If you had to enter a competition for the “Most Uselessly Unique Talent,” what would your talent be? Probably juggling a soccer ball (My record in high school was well over 100, but now I can do around 40. Better start practicing!

I can also recite the 50 states in alphabetical order and the alphabet backwards just as fast as forward.

If you could go only to one restaurant for the next five years, which would it be? El Que Pasa!

If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?

Yield- I am usually cautious before making decisions.

What would your at bat song be? Cruise- Florida Georgia Line J

What can someone do to encourage you?

Be supportive, share ideas & words of encouragement with me verbally or through writing.

If you had a magic lamp and a genie that granted you three wishes, what would the three wishes be?

My responsible answer would be world peace, financial stability, and a healthy life.

However I would be tempted to ask for:

  1. A teleportation device so I can travel the world!
  2. A time machine to experience any time period, past or future.
  3. The ability to communicate with animals.

How many siblings do you have? Are you the oldest, a middle child, or youngest? I have 2 brothers, Aaron and Garrett.  I am the middle child.

I wish everyone would –Be kind to each other!

I’m at my silliest when . . .I am with my fiancé, Max.

If you were given the opportunity for free skydiving lessons would you take them?  Absolutely not! My brother offered to take me once, but I couldn’t do it. I’m too afraid of heights!

Do you prefer sweet or salty snacks? Sweet

If you could instantly become fluent in another language, which language would you choose?

Japanese. Growing up, my family tried to learn Japanese by listening to tapes in the car. It didn’t stick, I only remember a couple phrases. I would love to truly be immersed in Japanese culture!

Who was your favorite band when you were in high school?

Green Day or My Chemical Romance

Where did you grow up? How many places have you lived?

I grew up in Wilkesboro, NC. I have only lived there and Asheville.

If you could be one Disney princess or villain, which one would you be and why?

I would be Moana. She is brave, independent, and adventurous. Moana insists she is not a princess, which is something I would have strongly related to growing up!  She is a leader for her people and brings much needed, positive change. I wish I could say… I AM MOANA!!

What is the best thing about living here?

I love being close to friends and Max’s family. This area is beautiful, and there are so many restaurants, shops, and outdoor activities around!

If you were a color what color would you be? Why?

Blue- it is a relaxing color, and I feel that I am typically a calm, laid back person. Blue is also my favorite color.
